This position offers a full-time appointment with a Certificate of Continuous Employment. The department offers a diverse range of programs including a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics for Economics, minors in Psychology, History, and Environmental Studies, and courses in sociology, psychology, anthropology, economics, geography, government, history, and philosophy. Candidates with expertise in law and society and/or science and technology studies are especially encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Teach sociology courses at various levels, including in-person, hybrid, and online formats. Participate in curriculum development and assessment. Provide student advisement and mentoring. Contribute to departmental, college, and university service activities. Collaborate with colleagues on initiatives and programs. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in sociology or a related field. Ability to teach successfully and work cooperatively. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree or higher. Specialization in law and society or science and technology studies, especially in digital technologies. Experience teaching sociology at various levels. Experience with online teaching and learning management systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to collaboration. Compensation $69,983 - $88,998, with salary adjustments following CUNY’s salary schedule increases.
