About the Role:

The Full Time Maintenance Worker in the Parking Division plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of parking facilities in Towson, Maryland. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing repairs, and enhancing the overall user experience for customers utilizing the parking services. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team to identify maintenance needs and implement solutions promptly. Additionally, this role involves monitoring equipment and facilities to prevent issues before they arise, thereby contributing to a seamless parking experience. Ultimately, the Maintenance Worker will help maintain a positive image of the parking division through diligent upkeep and responsive service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Experience in facilities maintenance, particularly in parking or public service environments.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • The ability to respond courteously and professionally at all times
  • The ability to regularly stand, walk, sit, drive, bend, kneel, reach, work on ladders and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Familiarity with minor automotive, electrical and plumbing repairs preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of parking facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and minor repairs on parking equipment and structures.
  • Respond promptly to service requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to parking operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any significant issues to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include a strong understanding of maintenance practices and the ability to use tools effectively, which are essential for performing daily tasks such as repairs and inspections. Problem-solving skills will be utilized to address issues as they arise, ensuring that parking facilities remain safe and functional.
